Mr. Ryotaro Sakaguchi

I very rarely pay a whole lot of attention to celebrities. From here, in the U.S., anyway. I've just never been really interested in them. The last time I probably actually did was back when I was maybe 14...16. I'm 26, now.

This year...well, actually...what I'm about to say started, last year, but it didn't like, really, really start until lately...I became interested in an actor, again. For the first time in many years.

It started when I was bored, one day. And it had been quite a while since I last watched a Japanese drama. I discovered a mini-series called "Gin to Kin"...and that's where I first saw him. The actor I have come to highly respect, support, and appreciate.

May I introduce...Mr. Ryotaro Sakaguchi!

Ryotaro Sakaguchi as Arita Shinichi in "Gin to Kin" (episodes 7-9 only).

Ryotaro Sakaguchi as Sabakan in "High & Low: The Worst". If you have seen the movies, you may have heard of him.

Mr. Ryotaro (or...should it actually be 'Mr. Sakaguchi'? The name thing in Japan confuses me, greatly, heh heh 😅) is an actor, a singer, and a dancer. He will occasionally also play the piano, and sometimes perform on stage. He is even a member of a group of singers known as C.I.A. Cube (Cube Infinity Artists). He seems to enjoy traveling, going to the movies, fashion, and reading. He also has a blog on a Japanese site called "Ameba" (I think it's also known as "Ameblo", but I'm not 100% sure about that)...however, it looks like he hasn't updated it since 2020. He's on Twitter and Instagram a lot more often.

Of course, since he lives in Japan and 90% of his posts are in Japanese, I don't think he's well-known outside of Japan...although, I kinda do wish he was, as I think he's very talented in what he does. But ah, it is what it is.

Mr. Ryotaro in a LINE mini-series called "A/live" (if I recall, correctly). The watermark on there is my Instagram as I am the one who snapped this screencap. Unfortunately, I can not find a lot of information on this series, so I don't know Mr. Ryotaro's character name, here.

Mr. Ryotaro as Hiro Kinashi in the live-action "Chihayafuru" movies. If you are a fan of the "Chihayafuru" series, you might enjoy the movies, if you haven't seen them, already!

As far as I've seen, Mr. Ryotaro seems to get a lot of funny roles in movies and dramas (ok, mostly dramas), which suits him as I think he is a funny person. But for now, all I know is that most of his characters have made me smile and laugh! I haven't seen everything he has been in, yet, but the ones I have seen, I have thoroughly enjoyed.

So far, Mr. Ryotaro seems to have only gotten support roles, and has played a villain, a couple of times. One villain that he has played, he has successfully terrified me with, lol!

Mr. Ryotaro as Katagiri Tomoo in "Kyoufu Shinbun". Thank you, so much, for the nightmares, Sir 😂! Maybe I'm just easily scared, but your performance was amazing!

This man has been in many dramas of many different genres. His acting career, from what I've read, started back in 2010. If he is in anything any earlier than that, I have not seen it listed, anywhere. It's entirely possible I'm just not looking in the right places, though.

Mr. Ryotaro as Keisuke Yanami in "Kamen Rider: Fourze". He looks rather dashing with long hair, if I do admit, myself 😳. Like, uhm...Sir?

Mr. Ryotaro as Ichiro Kusano in "Kamen Rider: Ex-Aid".

It would have been super cool if Mr. Ryotaro was in "Kamen Rider: Build" (a show I will finish...someday)! Ah, alas, he is not. Oh, well!

Mr. Ryotaro has a YouTube channel, but doesn't seem to post on there as often as he does on Instagram and Twitter. To me, that's totally fine. It's his life, he does what he wants 🤷. Hell, I don't post as often as he does, but that's mostly because it's hard for me to get interesting photos.

I collect photos as a bit of a hobby, so I have photos of this talented man from his blog and social media. However, I will not post them as I feel very unsure if I should/could because I do have a high respect and appreciation for him, and have not asked his permission if I could. And in my experience, receiving a response from an actor is incredibly rare...and personally, I am much too shy to send Mr. Ryotaro a private message to ask him if I could share his photos 😂.

Maybe someday, I'll gather the courage. But for now, I am just happy to support him. Especially from here, in the U.S..

I hope that someday, too, I will get a chance to properly meet Mr. Ryotaro. He seems like a nice and chill guy to hang out with. Ah, but a girl can dream.

I will continue to support him and his career. I'd also like to see him play a main role, someday!

I've realized that Mr. Ryotaro and I have a fair bit in common.

Reading: I grew up reading, quite often, including at meal times. I still enjoy reading, but it's mostly some manga, and I no longer read often. Still, I personally prefer picking up an actual book than reading through a Kindle. But, that's me.

Traveling: I have traveled, a bit, in my life. I traveled out of state, a few times, growing up, with my family...the furthest I've been is probably Texas. Sadly, however, I've never been out of the country. But I would love to, someday. One of my biggest dreams is to visit Japan! I've been wanting to go ever since I was 16. The food, the culture, the places...Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara...I even want to visit the gardens! Another country I would love to visit is Italy, which is where my grandfather came from (actually, he came from Sicily, but still)...so fun fact, I'm part Italian! Lol! I grew up eating a lot of Italian food, but I don't think I've ever had true Italian. Like Japan, I'd love to explore Italy's culture and places.

Movies: I am a bit of a nerd, and I grew up with a lot of popular movie (and book) series. Mostly, "Lord of the Rings", "Harry Potter", "Pirates of the Caribbean", and even James Cameron's "Avatar" (I have not seen the new movie, yet). I grew up going to the movie theater with my family, mostly with my dad and brother. Sadly, I have not been to the movie theater in a very long time as I had developed tinnitus, over the recent years, and have become very sensitive to loud noises (yet, oddly enough, I have no problem listening to my music at a somewhat loud volume).

The only thing Mr. Ryotaro and I don't have in common is fashion. Although, I have been considering getting into it, at least a little bit. I'll probably talk about Mr. Ryotaro's style in another post, but all I will say is that I like it. I do have my own preferred style, but it is very hard for me to come by. For now, most of my fashion sense consists of zipper hoodies, leggings, and sometimes jeans. Lol!

Anyway....

I posted about Mr. Ryotaro, tonight, because a small thunderstorm was coming through just as I was about to finally go to bed, and I can't sleep through that noise, lol! It sounds like it has calmed down, now, so I think it's time for me to sleep.

Goodnight, everyone! Thank you for reading!

🌙💤

Edit: I am such a fool! I was so tired when I wrote this up, I completely forgot to share links to Mr. Ryotaro's social media! So, here they are!

A bit of a note: Ameba is a Japanese blog website, and not available in English (as far as I'm aware). So, just a fair heads-up unless you are fluent in Japanese and are able to read the language. I am not...yet (I'm learning Japanese, but progress is difficult and slow for me, lol). I am not gonna lie, I only visit Mr. Ryotaro's blog to look at the pictures, once in a while 😂.

But, there you have it! Mr. Ryotaro's social media if you are interested in checking him out and following him.
